So is it just me or did the hype for NCsoft's golden baby just die off all a sudden? Will it still be the WoW killer it was being made out to be? Will you still convert?

At this point I don't know what to say about everyone who has never touched any part of GW in their lives but when we were still claiming GW2 was vaporware, the initial thought was to switch over to AION as soon as it becomes available in the EU/US regions. After the recent preview, how do you reflect on this now?

Look ... GW2 isn't going to come out yet. Aion is releasing on Sept 22. Naturally peoples will buy new games as they come out. Unless somehow (a miracle no less) GW2 comes out on Sept 22 *lol* .. you might see Aion gone away like the dodo birds! lol I think most peoples will still try Aion for few months than switch back to GW2 once it's released.

The hype seems to go down quiet a lot, who knows maybe Aion will only last a year once GW2 is out to the publice. I mean the game is free to play unlike Aion plus the graphics LOOKED better than Aion.

I can't wait for GW2 and hope that I can reserve it asap!

Aion still looks interesting but in all honesty I'm worried that it could end up like Lineage 2 and turn out to be this massive grind game. It looks pretty easy going on the grind so far since I hear a lot of talk about them adding new quests frequently during beta events but even so. I'll try it but after seeing the GW2 trailer and the Dust 514 trailer there are only two games I think about these days. EvE online and Guild Wars...

Sry I don't think there can be a direct contest between the two games, Aion has been on the internation market for almost a year and comes out in America and Europe in a month.
The Gameplay and quest systems will be very different from what GW2 attempts do do.
As for me, I wanted to play Aion about 3 years ago, but I don't think I have the time now, I could play very long during 1 or 2 month in the year at best but won't play oftern in the rest, paying a fee during that time just isn't worth it.
Likewise I don't belief any game can take over 1st place from WoW without recruting 6-7 million players who were not former involved with MMOs in any way.

Aion has been my replacement plan for awhile now as so it will still remain as such.

However, the trailer got me excited all over again so the second GW2 comes out, I'll probably be going crazy over that instead.

I will still play Aion when the servers go live on September 22 (1 more long month to go ><) And I will be playing both when both are out, but I'm leaning toward Aion atm even after the GW2 preview, that's probably because we know about Aion more than GW2 right now. There's nothing bad to play both (+ D3) if you like them.

Yeah, I didn't have any interest in Aion to begin with. Played one beta, went "meh, screw this, not worth it at all". Not that I ever thought it would be, but I figured I'd at least try it.

I'll play Aion and when GW2 is released I will definetly be there. No idea weather or not I will try to play both. Lots of time and conditions involved.
I loved playing in the Aion beta. The wings took a little getting used to but quickly became more than just a way to get around faster.

I would love to play Aion, I have been keeping my eye on it for a few years now. The bottom line for me is "P2P is not for me"

After seeing a trailer with little in game footage (don't get me wrong, it was an amazing trailer) and more vague information (still glad we go it), I still think Aion looks like a pretty good game. The preview of GW2 doesn't make it any less of a good game.

I will play Aion, for how long? I don't know.
I tried the beta, loved the gameplay, people were friendly (i think b/c we were all newbz), and made some new friends (not irl) who currently plays GW atm.

I can't wait for GW2 too, but hey, seriously, 2011-2012..?

I intend to play both actually.

As Aion is P2P and GW2 is B2P..i'll only really be paying for Aion..

And after all Aion comes out earlier than GW2, so i'll have time to get a 50 sorcerer on that while i wait for GW2 lol
